Job Description: This HR Specialist role is responsible for recruiting, hiring, record keeping, and related compliance. Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Public or business administration or related field
  • 4 - 6 years’ experience in Human Resources; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or other related certification
  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational communication skills
  • Highly proficient Excel and technology skills enabling the ability to collect, evaluate, and report key metrics
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision while meeting objectives
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive material
  • Exemplary standards of integrity, personal work ethic and continuous involvement in self education and development
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all recruitment processes to include developing and reviewing recruitment advertisements, screening employment applications, coordinating interviews, participating on interview panels and conducting pre-employment screening
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with department hiring managers and external resources
  • Participates in job fairs and initiates recruitment methods and programs
  • Participates in employee investigations, provides disciplinary review and coordination
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements affecting HR programs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of federal and state employment law
  • Administers and maintains all personnel files and other miscellaneous data in Human Resources files
